Mad Max Fury Road Review

Some players are probably old enough to remember Mel Gibson as the unforgettable Mad Max in the original movies, but pretty much everyone remembers Tom Hardy as the bold action hero in the 2015 follow-up called Mad Max Fury Road. Aristocrat has acquired the Warner Bros license to do the slot version of this Hollywood blockbuster, and the result is a stunning ride through the post-apocalyptic desert from the point of view of one of the drivers.

You get to meet all the main characters from the successful movie, such as Immortal Joe, Nux, Emperor Furiosa, The Splendid Angharad, and, of course, Mad Max himself. You can look forward to plenty of authentic movie clips that livens up the gameplay as well, and the haunting soundtrack will accompany you across the endless ‘fury road’. You get streak walking wilds, wild sandstorms after every free spin, as well as a pick prize feature and a progressive jackpot that seeds at £750,000.

Mad Max Fury Road Slot Features

The character premium symbols pay between 6 to 15 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, with Mad Max himself as the top-tier symbol. You win by landing 3 to 5 matching symbols anywhere on consecutive reels from the uttermost left to the right, and the Wild symbols step in for pay symbols to help complete wins.

Wilds can appear on all 5 reels, and they pay up to 15x your stake should you land 5 wilds on a payline. Wilds that are involved in a win will become sticky moving wilds, and they move on step to the left per spin that follows. Wilds will continue to move to the left as long as they keep being involved in new winning combos, or until they drop off the leftmost reel.

You can trigger the Wild Sandstorm feature at random times after any given spin, and this gives you a bunch of wilds randomly placed on the grid. All wilds that partake in a winning combination become moving wilds, and the moving wilds feature plays out as described above.

Mad Max Fury Road Slot – Free Spins

You need at least 3 scatter ‘free spins’ symbols in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this gives you 10 free spins. You get the Wild Sandstorm feature after every free spin, and this can also potentially give you the walking wilds feature. The final free spin will go on until the last walking wild is removed from the grid, and you cannot win the jackpot in the bonus round.

You need 3 bonus symbols (skull in the middle) on the same row to trigger the Bonus Feature, and it’s all about picking dials until you win. Each pick fills up the fuel gauges above the dial, and filling a fuel gauge awards a cash prize. You can get a “wild” prize as well, which gives you the opportunity to win up to 4 cash prizes instead of one.

You will see the Progressive Jackpot on display in the top right corner, and it is awarded randomly as you play. Your jackpot chances increase a bit the higher your bet size, and it grows from being allocated 2 % of any player’s stake. It seeds at £750,000, and the jackpot comes with no upper limit. This is a network jackpot, which means that it is shared across different games.

Review Summary

We have to say that Mad Max Fury Road sticks out from most of what we’ve seen from Aristocrat before, although they seem to have a knack for branded efforts. You’re taken right into the post-apocalyptic desert road action from the get-go in this release, and it comes with stunning animations, sound effects, and, of course, plenty of authentic movie clips from the 2015 Hollywood blockbuster by the same name. We hardly think fans of the Tom Hardy movie could ask for more.

More they will get, however, as we hear rumors that the Megaways version of Mad Max Fury Road is even wilder. Aristocrat is hardly holding back with this release either though, and the moving wilds feature can lead to solid payouts in all stages of the game. This is not least the case when you get the wild sandstorm feature after every free spin, and the dial pick bonus feature is decent as well. The progressive jackpot can lead to life-changing payouts, and this is a high-octane warm up to the even more spectacular dynamic grid follow-up.
